Waiting for Normal: Trying to Find Meaning in a World Put on Hold

Waiting for Normal was written for a long form reporting class as part of my masters program at UT. I began the class intending to write about a small church in Wells, TX, that has been at the center of several scandals in recent years. As it did for the plans of many others, the pandemic brought that work to a standstill. I instead wrote this — a personal narrative about the struggles to find some semblance meaning and normal in the early days of the pandemic. Read it here.
